Ullen Sentalu Museum

In Jogjakarta there is one of the best museums you can visit. Green and cool, located north of the city of Yogyakarta precisely on the slopes of Merapi Kaliurang tourist area, Sleman Regency, Ullen Sentalu Musem welcomes its visitors with dozens of large and lush trees. The entrance of the museum is unusual, we have to go through the Selogiri cave because part of the museum's location is underground.

Javanese Culture Museum

Ullen Sentalu is a museum exhibiting Javanese culture in the past. In the first room will be treated to traditional Javanese musical instruments. Also in this room there are several paintings of Gusti Raden Ajeng Siti Nurul Kusumawardani who are dancing several types of dances. Gusti Raden Ajeng Siti Nurul Kusumawardani is the only daughter of the couple Mangkunegara VII and Gusti Kanjeng Ratu Timoer. In the Ullen Sentalu museum there is a very special hallway arranged with Merapi stone material. With dim lighting techniques accompany paintings by figures of the Mataram dynasty arranged neatly along the aisle.

 

 

At the end of the hall, a collection of batik from the era of Sultan Hamengku Buwono VII to Sultan Hamengku Buwono VIII was waiting.

A Glance About Ullen Sentalu Museum

The unique name Ullen Sentalu is short for "Ulating Blencong Sejatine Tataraning Lumaku" which means blencong lights are human instructions in walking and pursuing life. Blencong itself is an oil lamp contained in a shadow play or Wayang.

The museum was conceived and founded in 1997 by the Haryono family of Yogyakarta nobility. Haryono's family is very concerned with the preservation of Javanese culture.

In Ullen Sentalu the history and culture of Java in the past is neatly arranged. The journey through the museum's spaces was arranged in such a way that the visitors were bewitched to the charm of Java in the past.
